Description BORGULYA Gábor 2009-06-28 10:59:11 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

kmail does not display fresh sent mail at the end of long threads
Disconnected IMAP.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Set folder of outgoing emails to inbox
2. Take a long email thread in the inbox
3. replay to the last email of the thread
4. message is sent successfully
5. ERROR: the sent message can not be found in any of the folders
6. quit kmail and start it again
7. the sent mail can now be seen at the end of the thread.

Alternative:
6. press F5 to synchronise the inbox
7. the sent message does NOT appear
8. keep pressing F5 until a reply comes on the sent message
9. both the sent message and the reply on it appear.

Oops, now I see that it does not always happen so! I managed to send 2 emails today that are visible!
This may be more complicated.

Today I had an email that disappeared in a way that even closing and restarting kmail did not make it reappear. But in this case the message appeared at the end of the thread after pressing F5.

There are cases when it's pressing F5 that makes the last email of the thread disappear.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
