Version: 2.2.4 (using KDE 4.2.4) OS: Linux Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages Expected behaviour: Gwenview will stay where it is in the list of images regardless of desktop switching activity Actual behaviour: Gwenview will scroll to the top of a list of images when switching desktops Steps to reproduce: 1. Browse a directory with images in, scroll down the list of images 2. Switch away from Gwenview's desktop and back again 3. Gwenview will scroll to the top of the list of images, unbidden. Observed with IceWM and Openbox
Fixed in KDE 4.3 RC1 / Gwenview 4.3 Was indeed true in KDE 4.2.4 / Gwenview 2.2.4
Now using KDE 4.3.0 / Gwenview 2.3.0, this issue is still present.
I can't reproduce this bug. I tried to reproduce it with Gwenview 2.2.2 + OpenBox 3.4.7.2 and with Gwenview 4.3.0 + KWin 4.3.0 (same as you). Does this happen in all folders? how do you switch between desktop (keyboard shortcut, click on applet, mouse wheel)?
I normally use lxpanel's applet to switch desktops. I tested scrolling on the root window to change desktops and it also causes the bug. I have tested with IceWM and 2.3.0, with the same result. Further testing reveals that it's not jumping back to the top - it's scrolling to place the currently selected file is as close to the middle of screen as possible. When entering a directory the first image is automatically suggested, hence it appear to always want to scroll to the top of the screen. When no file is selected, it will not automatically scroll of its own accord.
Good catch! I can now reproduce it. It does not happen when switching between desktops in KDE, but it does happen when minimizing the window.

Bug is still present in 20.04.2.
Thank you for the bug report. Unfortunately we were not able to get to it yet. Can we ask you to please check if this is still an issue with Gwenview 25.08.0 (the latest released version)?
