Description Gunter Ohrner 2009-06-26 23:49:30 UTC
Version: 4.3.1 (using KDE 4.2.4)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

I'm experiencing something which looks like the same issue as Bug 172242 which is supposed to be fixed in phonon xine backend 4.3.1...

Somehow, an regression seems to have occured, as I cannot play (OGG Vorbis) files containing non-ascii characters or residing in directories containing these characters. My system is using iso 8859-15 encoding.

A file causing problems is eg.:
./Xandria - Salomé - The Seventh Veil/10. Xandria - Sisters Of The Light.ogg

Playing the file in this directory fails with both dragon and Amarok. If I copy the file to my home directory, it plays just fine. The same holds if the media file's name contains the illegal character itself, playing the file fails, renaming the file to some ASCII-only name works around this bug.

Please don't report the same bug multiple times.
