Description Tom Kijas 2009-06-24 08:34:30 UTC
Version: 1.2.80 (using 4.2.90 (KDE 4.2.90 (KDE 4.3 Beta2)), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.29-02062904-generic

Dolphin doesn't remember "Details" nor "no thumbnails" settings on NTFS disks, in ext4 it is OK.

Do you have write permissions in that NTFS partition/folder ? Anyways if you don't have them, the configuration files are wrote in a hidden local configuration.
Does this NTFS partition/folder has always the same mount path ?
Regards

When you change the view mode, is a file named ".directory" being created in that dir ? Is a directory representation of the path being created under "/home/$USER/.kde4/share/apps/dolphin/view_properties/" ?
Thanks

This bug does not occur for me with Dolphin 1.3 on local NTFS filesystems, even ones where I have no write permission (the .directory file goes in the tree under ~/.kde/share/apps/dolphin/view_properties), but it *does* occur with a filesystem mounted with sshfs where I do have write permission.

@madengineer10@gmail.com: your issue may be related or not.
Waiting for Tom feedback.

Can anyone still reproduce this issue? I don't have a NTFS disk available, so I cannot triage this bug on my own.

No response -> closing. Please reopen this bug if you still encounter this crash in newer versions of Dolphin.
