Version: (using KDE 4.2.4) Compiler: gcc4.4.0 OS: Linux Installed from: Unspecified Linux Plugins: OTR How to reproduce: Disable everything like User-specified font color, fonts, etc. Disable smileys everywhere. And have a contact on MSN who uses smileys. Somehow, the partner said the she doesnt uses characters for the missing words, only for "o" for example, but that one works. I couldn't think anything else besides the smileys. But it seems thats not the issue. It looks like this: Example1: Kola, koszi That becomes:: ola, oszi Example2: betuvel That becomes: betuel (the u - e becomes one (really close to each other) but there is nothing between them) If I try to copy the line and paste it to kopete, I Cant see anything. It looks like this if I paste the lines into Firefox: "hát tényleg nemtom,de csa a betűel van ily" "mindeninél j" ps.: I tried KDEbug application turn to max, run kopete from terminal, but no help. No errors. Tried this method as well: Open a terminal and play with the next line: export LC_ALL=hu_HU.UTF-8 then start kopete from there: kopete Tried these ones: hu_HU.ISO-8859-2, en_US, en_US-UTF-8, POSIX Any idea?
A couple of "wrong message when using emoticons with the OTR plugin" bugs were fixed and detailed here: bug 182114. Could you please look at it and check if they are related? Thanks
OTR plugin is not enabled in this conversation, and it happens even if I disable it. By the way its "Directorybranches/KDE/4.1/" , and mine is 4.2.4. Doesn't it matter? (And the submitter used KDE4.2.0)
The fixed for bug 182114 were done at 4.3trunk code some time ago, so I guess the issue was fixed in 4.3, 4.2.x code may be still affected. But as you said it is unrelated to OTR then they may be different bugs. Thanks
does it help if you turn off OTR?
As I already said , it doesnt matters if I turn it off, on. And with that contact of mine, we never used OTR. I only use OTR with my jabber/xmpp contacts. (And about 1-2 person on MSN).
