Description Jaroslav Reznik 2009-06-23 14:30:19 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.90)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

Task Manager tooltips are not rendered correctly while using two Task Manager widgets in two different Panels.

How to reproduce:
1. add second Panel to the top
2. add second Task Manager to the Panel on the top
3. run one task
4. select task (on the bottom panel) and wait for tooltip
5. move cursor to the same task on the top panel and wait for tooltip
6. check task button/panel for graphics artefacts (or any window partially overlapped with tooltip)

Screencast: http://rezza.hofyland.cz/kde/plasma-bug.ogv (external location)

System configuration:
Fedora 11 with KDE 4.2.90 from kde-unstable repo (but reproducible in 4.2.3 either)

xorg-x11-drv-nouveau-0.0.12-36.20090514git9656762
qt-4.5.1

No desktop effects.

Screencast is from VirtualBox using VBoxVideo driver.

you don't need two task managers to reproduce this, task manager and pager is enough for this, whatever produces tooltip
Comment 2 Rex Dieter 2009-06-23 15:03:31 UTC
Interesting, fedora 11 + kde-4.2.90, using intel drivers, I cannot reproduce (with effects on or off).
Comment 3 Michal Hlavinka 2009-06-23 15:18:18 UTC
I'm able to reproduce this with f11+nouveau+kde 4.2.4 and with f11 in qemu+cirrus+kde 4.2.3.

When trying to reproduce this, better be focused to edge of the panel than any window/dialog. It's better reproducible

This is clearly a Xorg bug, I was able to write a xlib-only testcas (as I was asked for), but then nothing happend.
