Description Dotan Cohen 2009-06-23 11:29:07 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.90)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

Please replace the mailto links in bugzilla with a page that requests verification before disclosing a user's email address.

I have used the email addresses in bugzilla to contact users and I think that it is an important and critical feature. However, it is simply to easy to log in an scrap addresses. I use unique addresses here in bugzilla (kde-**@myDomain.com) and I have to change them every month due to spam. A simple captcha or other verification system would let users get to the email address, but would cut down on the spam.

Thanks.

This bug intends on implementing a partial solution to Bug 64713.

Well, all mails are also sent to and archived in the public kde-bugs-dist mailing list. So spammers don't even need to create an account here and log in. They can just join and make use of the kde-bugs-dist mailing list.

This would need to be implemented upstream in Bugzilla itself; please report there if it's something you're still interested in. Thanks!
