Description Alexander Opitz 2009-06-23 09:55:09 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.4)
OS: MS Windows
Installed from: MS Windows

All KDE Applications crash with the error message like:

"freeaddrinfo" wasn't found in "WS2_32.dll"

(German error message: Der Prozedureinsprungspunkt "freeaddrinfo" wurde in der DLL "WS2_32.dll" nicht gefunden.)

What is your Windows version ? It seems that function was introduced on WinXP: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms737931.aspx
Thanks

1.) As I wrote in the subject, I've Windows 2000.

2.) Please don't change the version to which I report this problem. The problem starts with the win kde 4.2.4 builds, 4.2.3 worked on my system.

3.) The only missing thing is, that I used msvc builds in the installer. They changed since 4.2.4 to vc90.
Comment 3 Dario Andres 2009-06-30 22:46:25 UTC
Just to clarify: the version changed because the "kde-windows" bugzilla product do not have the 4.2.4 version. We didn't changed it in purpose. Thanks

The 4.2.95 packages have the same problem.
