kde is nice !
Did you do some particular action to trigger the crash? Anyway you should install debug packages in order to provide a useful backtrace. http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports
Marking as NEEDSINFO
i speak in spanish, so here i go. i was working whith open office, sulfur, virtualbox, kopete and exaile; suddenly i change the window of kopete and all the desktop exepto the windows go be black (the systray, the panel, the grapichs elements, all is gone) kde daemon notific me about the sucess and here i am keying this with my bad english.
en: Has plasma crashed again? Do you think you can reproduce the crash at will? You can write in Spanish if you want, I can translate it.
Translating comment 6: " The situation that I'm describing is happening some times, oftenly while I use some Compiz effect like expose or the ring swithcer. I did a stress test to the desktop but the crash can't be reproduce. I'm going to search the pattern that could cause the problem As I said, this happens suddenly and I put it here because it is annoying after the third times it happens. Since two months ago to the present it only happened 6 times. Thanks " @Jesus: what is your GNU/Linux distribution? You need to install some packages in order to get a complete backtrace the next time the crash happen. Thanks
i'm using sabayon 4.1
Are you used to the Gentoo/Sabayon compilation commands ?
no. my kde is pre-instaled in my sabayon version. i dont know a lot of linux.
Ok. Without a backtrace this is going to be difficult to address. Closing as INVALID Thanks anyways for your willing on help us.
