Description mando 2009-06-17 19:57:17 UTC
Version: 4:4.2.2-1 (using KDE 4.2.2)
Compiler: gcc (Debian 4.3.3-10) 4.3.3
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

Hi,

I've actually this problem with knotes 4:4.2.2-1 (however this feature is supposed to be solved ?)

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=189050

I use debian testing (squeeze).
The note is not locked, I tried to lock/unlock, but I can't resize it :s

Cheers

You should be able to resize the note from the bottom right corner. Didn't you?

Hi Finex,

Indeed, I can now resize the note thanks to the right bottom corner (I don't know if this feature has been added because I now use knotes 4:4.2.4-1 or maybe I was blind :p).

I believe that knotes could be improved if one could resize a note like every KDE window (e.g by dragging a border). I can't remember if knotes under KDE-3 implemented such a feature.

I've another question. Under KDE3, knotes provided a nice style :

... and I don't find this option in the KDE4 version. I suppose that this option is not yet implemented ?

Cheers

KDE 3 behaviour was like KDE 4: notes were resizeable only dragging the bottom right corner.

About the style it looks like that that feature has been dropped in KDE4. If you want styled notes you should use the new notes plasmoid which is themable within plasma.

I'll leave this report opened with this summary but I don't know if someone is currently working on knotes.

Ok

Ok, but such a package does not seem to be available on Debian ? I've installed "plasma-desktopthemes-artwork" and "kdeartwork-*" packages but only the "normal" style is available in knotes :s

Thank you very much FineX !

I don't know about debian packages, anyway Knotes in KDE 4 cannot be themed, instead, if you want themed notes you can use the desktop widget called "note" (on the plasma desktop). It is a different way to manage notes but it can be themed inside plasma.

Indeed no theme seems to be available for knotes.

I didn't notice this plasma widget. Indeed several styles are available with the plasma widget "notes".

Thank you again Finex !
