Description Amitakhya Phukan 2009-06-16 13:38:10 UTC
Version:            (using KDE 4.2.4)
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Fedora RPMs

I use lokalize extensively. Till KDE 4.1, in lokalize, if I select a word/alphabet/sentence in lokalize and hit 'ctrl+r' to open the global search and replace window, the highlighted part used to be added automatically added in the 'Find' section and to globally replace, I used to de-select 'Prompt on replace'. But with the latest lokalize package, after hitting 'ctrl+r' the highlighted part doesn't automatically get filled up in the 'Find' section. Also, if the highlighted part occurs multiple times across the po file etc, the replacement doesn't work for all the strings. It changes only in the current string. Also, the replacement is not proper. I have observed while using Lokalize to translate to Assamese language. It never happened prior to the latest lokalize.

revert to kdelibs <= 4.2.2 or wait till KDE 4.3

Just need to update some info.

Trying with KDE 4.3 and the bug still remains. The exact problems described are still there.

Apologies if this comment should not have been here.

Regards,
Amit.

are you sure that you have upgraded both kdelibs and lokalize?

you can check this out in lokalize about box.

Hi,

These are the packages installed in my system.

$ rpm -q kdesdk
kdesdk-4.3.0-1.fc11.i586

$ rpm -q kdelibs
kdelibs-4.3.0-2.fc11.i586

Lokalize about screen says
"Lokalize Version 1.0"
"Using KDE 4.3.00 (KDE 4.3.0)"

Is there anything else that I need to check for ?

Hi,

With the present set of packages, the global search and replace in Lokalize is still not working.

$> rpm -qa | grep kdesdk
kdesdk-utils-4.3.3-1.fc12.x86_64
kdesdk-libs-4.3.3-1.fc12.x86_64
kdesdk-4.3.3-1.fc12.x86_64

$> rpm -qa | grep -i kdelibs
kdelibs-4.3.3-4.fc12.x86_64
kdelibs3-devel-3.5.10-19.fc12.x86_64
kdelibs3-3.5.10-19.fc12.x86_64
kdelibs-devel-4.3.3-4.fc12.x86_64
kdelibs-common-4.3.3-4.fc12.x86_64

I have tested 4.3.80 KDE packages and seems still not working global search and replace in lokalize.

I observed that in kate and kwrite I can easily search and replace non-English words. But same is not happening in lokalize. Its searching near actual words in text and placing cursor near that word but not highlighting actual words found.
