Version: 2.2.90 (using 4.2.90 (KDE 4.2.90 (KDE 4.3 Beta2)), Kubuntu packages) Compiler: cc OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.28-11-generic In KDE 4.2 I was able to set the default download directory. I cannot find such an option in KDE 4.3 beta 2 and kget always jumps to ~/Desktop It was a nice feature in KDE 4.2 to change the default to something personal.
You need to configure it for the default download group... now default dirs are per group... Lukas
I did so before but it still doesn't work as expected. Now I figured out that I had to restart Konqueror to be aware of the new download directory. When I click on an MP3 on a website the download directory now works, but when I right click in Konqueror and choose "save as" I still get directed to ~/documents which I never set anywhere. I also have no tags nor regular expressions in my single download group in KGet. Another thing: BTW, what is the difference when I check the checkbox "Use default directories for groups as suggestions"? I can't see a different behavior whether I check it or not.
Maybe the Konqueror integration is b0rked yeah, can you test with just dropping something on KGet? Lukas PS: The default dirs as suggestion means that the new transfer-dialog shows up every time, even if the download could be moved to a default directory...
Yes, with dropping it works. Can you forward the bug to the Konqueror-team? Or should I? Due to the checkbox. You should replace the label with two radios perhaps. The labelk text shouild be: - Automatically download into the specified directory - Open Dialog for chosing directory (and maybe put the radios BELOW the group list box NOT above) That the second choice suggests the directory which is set in the group should be intuitively anyways. What do you think? I just think that people won't get the meaning of your checkbox-label-text ;-)
Yeah, there is already a bug-report about the Konqueror-Integration and it's our fault. :( About the text: Thanks, great suggestion, I think we should change it for 4.4, we're in string freeze, so we cannot really change it... :( Too bad that we hadn't had the idea some weeks before, the text was a point of discussion already...
