Version: (using KDE 4.2.90) View = list for files, tree for folders. Currently gwenview has tree view, which means files and folders are all mixed up. It is useful for browsing, but if you are working on given set, it is more useful to see only the files list and folders just as a reminder where you are (separately). This worked perfectly with Gwenview/KDE3. Of course one does not exclude another. So user could use only file view. Or (for example) tree view on the left and file view on the right.
PS. Folder view is not that needed if tree view could show only the current part of the tree (like in Gwenview/KDE3). When you are focused on folder A, you don't need really to see it is part of /home/user/photos/summer/2008/holidays/june/A.
I think this is a duplicate. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 173850 ***
