Version: (using KDE 4.1.3) OS: Linux Installed from: SuSE RPMs Sometimes I need a region screenshot in GIF, as not everyone supports GIF. It's still an ubiquitous format, and I'm not sure why this was taken out? This person remembers it having GIF support in SLED 10, which apparently used KDE 3: http://forums.opensuse.org/archives/346232-how-add-ksnapshot-gif-format.html So this feature simply wasn't ported over?
In the description, I meant to say "not everyone supports PNG". Shouldn't there be an edit link somewhere? I don't see one.
KSnapshot simply uses the image formats provided as Qt plugins, and the default Qt plugin for the GIF format is read-only.
