Version: (using KDE 4.2.1) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages It would be nice to have a tool that simulates a Graduated Lens Filter. This is a filter that is clear for approx. one half of the filter, then gradually becomes darker at the other side. It is typically used for scenes that include the sky. The clear part of the filter is for the foreground and the darker part of the filter blocks some light from the sky to reduce contrast. I envision being able to determine the point at which density starts to become reduced, the final density, direction of the gradient, and color. Color selection would be nice for warming up a sky. Rotation of the gradient might also be useful. Thanks for your consideration!
On a nostalgic note: few years ago I was able to quite nicely reproduce Graduated Filters with set of specially prepare files created after Cokin catalog and Superimpose tool. Unfortunately due to some limitations of Superimpose tool practical usage of these filters was awkward and this pack became only small footnote in digiKam history :)
Created attachment 34563 [details] Graduate Filters pack for digiKam Probably not the best place but in this way it will not be lost :) Inside of pack README file with detailed descriptions.
Mik, In fact your package is there : http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=42641&package_id=150025 Gilles Caulier
Still valid for 3.0.0.
Hi Paul and happy new year, Please take a look in GMic Qt plugin for digiKam image editor to see if this kind of tool do not exists yet. Best regards Gilles Caulier
For all digiKam Image Editor advanced improvements, we will delegate this the Gmic-Qt plugin which is stable enough everywhere to be used in production. It include more than 400 filters to use by photographers. https://i.imgur.com/OFerL8H.png
