Description rookcifer 2009-06-09 23:20:59 UTC
Version: rssnow (using KDE 4.2.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

The rssnow widget is all screwed up in Kubuntu 9.04/KDE 4.2.2/QT-4.5.0. The problem is when I remove the "drop target" the space where the drop target was still remains. This makes it impossible to add more than one feed. The blank drop target area cannot be removed or resized, etc..

Here are screenshots to demonstrate what mean:

Freshly installed rssnow after I remove drop target:

Here is a pic when I try to add more than one feed:

I know there have been bug reports about rssnow, but a lot of people seem to claim that QT 4.5.0 fixes their problems. Not so here. I have this same problem with QT 4.5.0 and 4.5.1. I have it on KDE 4.2.2 and KDE 4.2.3, and any combination thereof. It also happens on all KDE distros I have tried.

I don't want to install KDE 4.3 Beta, so I'm hoping there is a fix for this in KDE 4.2x.

Just realized this got posted to the "akregator" category. I could not find rssnow anywhere in the list of apps, so please move this as you see fit.

Could you check if this is indeed related to bug 191052 / bug 189669 ?
Thanks

i doubt there will be a fix for this in 4.2 if it's still broken in 4.2.4 (no more 4.2 releases being made, 4.3 is just around the corner), but it works well in 4.3.

Yes, it appears to be related to both of them, specifically 191052. I see the fix was posted, but I don't know where to add the "scroller.h" and "scroller.cpp" files. What directory do they go in?

You will need to wait for KDE4.3. Marking as duplicate of bug 191052. Thanks
