Description Arnout Boelens 2009-06-09 15:59:15 UTC
Version: 0.70.4 (using 4.2.4 (KDE 4.2.4), Debian packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.29-2-686

AIM and MSN have quite a different set of emoticons and different ways of typing them:

http://www.aim.com/emoticons.adp
http://www.yahoofreak.com/aim-emoticons
http://messenger.msn.com/Resource/Emoticons.aspx

However, Kopete only uses the MSN set. For example:

Sunglasses smiley 8-) in AIM and (H) in MSN
Kiss is :-* in AIM and (K) in MSN
Silence smiley is :-X in AIM and :-# in MSN

This is left up to the emoticon theme to decide how to support these emoticons. Are you using the default KDE 4 emoticon theme or a custom theme?

Dear Bug Submitter,

This bug has been stagnant for a long time. Could you help us out and re-test if the bug is valid in the latest version? I am setting the status to NEEDSINFO pending your response, please change the Status back to REPORTED when you respond.

Thank you for helping us make KDE software even better for everyone!

Dear Andrew,

I haven't used Kopete in a very long time. I think this bug report can be closed.

Thanks,

Arnout
