Version: 4.2.4 (using KDE 4.2.4) Compiler: gcc 4.3.2 -O2 OS: Linux Installed from: Gentoo Packages I did the following: 1) Created Calendar, Contacts, Notes, Tasks, Journal as subfolders of INBOX (otherwise KMail will create the first folder and then crashes) for Google Mail IMAP 2) Activated Groupware features and selected GMail account. KMail will say that it will use the folders that were just created. 3) Added addressbook using IMAP in KMail in kaddressbook. I successfully copied my contacts to the new addressbook. BUT, after changing one entry in one contact, the contact was DELETED! I was not able to find it anymore.
This happens also with the IMAP server of my institute.
I can confirm this on Version 4.3 using KDE 4.2.90. Mostly it works fine, but some just vanishes. I grepped recursively thru /home/<username>/.kde/share/apps/kmail/dimap/* but it was all gone.
Hello, got the same problem but on Ubuntu + Ubuntu Packages (8.04/9.04/9.10). Here is my detailed procedure: When I edit a contact on the groupware server - the contact which i edit isnt in my mailinglists. Local Addressbook no Problem, only on groupware server. Kaddressbook Version: 3.5.9enterprise: -> Edit the Name - save - the contact is missing in all my mailinglists -> add the contact, which i edit in the mailinglist - edit the name again - nothing - the name will be correctly edit in all mailinglists(I can permanently change the name. The name will correctly edit in all mailinglists) -> edit the e-mail address - save - the contact is missing in all my mailinglists again -> add the contact, which i edit in the mailinlist - edit the e-mail address again - nothing - the e-mail will be correctly edit in all mailingslists xD (I can permanently change the e-mail. The e-mail address will correctly edit in all mailinglists) Now i can do the same again with the name - e-mail - name - e-mail. Kontact version 4.2.4 / 4.2.90 is 50% better. Edit the name works perfectly. But the same error with the e-mail address like in version 3.5.9 - Edit the contact e-mail in "All Contacts". Then switch to the mailinglist. In the list itself it looks like it works! One mouseclick on the contact shows the truth. On the right side you see, the old e-mail address. Restarting Kontact an i will miss the contact in my mailinglists again. Best Regards
The development of the old KAddressBook will be discontinued for KDE 4.4. Since the new application has the same name, but a completly new code base we close all bug reports against the old version and ask the submitters to resend there reports against the new product.
