Description Clemens Adolphs 2009-06-08 16:53:16 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.2)
Compiler: gcc (Ubuntu 4.3.3-5ubuntu4) 4.3.3
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

Situation: I open a pdf-file with okular. I open the print dialog and select "Print to File (PDF)". In the options panel I select "2 pages per sheet". The output file, however, there is still one page per sheet, so the output is just a copy of the input.

Dear Pino,

printing multiple pages per sheet is not the same as printing multiple copies of one document!!

What I want: One physical page of paper contains two (or four) pages of the pdf document.

What I get: One physical page contains one page of the pdf document.

This is different from: "I want the printer to spit out three copies of that page".

Printing n-up only works on real printers through CUPS, we have no way of doing this for 'Print to PDF'. This option should be disabled in the dialog when Print to PDF or PS is selected.

I'm pretty sure it used to work with KDE 3. In either case it works just fine with the cups-pdf virtual printer.
