Using openSuSE 11.0 with kde4.3beta1 I am unable to connect with fish in konqueror (file management), kate, kwrite, etc. The connection is apparently made but is terminated instantly. The konqueror error displayed is:

Opening konqueror(KDE3), fish connects perfectly. I have both konqueror(KDE4) and konqueror(KDE3) sitting side-by-side on my KDE4.3 desktop. The old konqueror connects fine, the kde4 konqueror gives the above error. I can't figure out why?

I can connect fine with fish on KDE4 across the LAN to non-standard ports, but I cannot connect to another host across the internet. I can't explain it.

For the same sites I *can* connect over https to the secure pages on the sites, so the certificates are working fine. I can ssh from konsole to the sites without issues and I can "cd /#sh:rbpllc.com" in mc as well. It looks like a specific problem with the KDE4 fish process. Let me know what else I can send.

This bug is getting stranger. It seems fish isn't completely broken, but just very screwed up and confused.. The reason being, after discussing it on the openSuSE list, it seems that you can ultimately get fish in kde4 to connect if you keep repeatedly trying over-and-over again, it will finally connect. This can take between 3 and 25 times to establish a connection in konqueror.

However, once you have gone through the process of repeatedly trying and then finally connecting to a site across the internet, you can then re-connect to that site the next time you try and access it without any problems. However, for all first time connections it is taking between 3-25 times of sitting there in konqueror, issuing the fish://yoursite.com command, having it fail with the message described in my initial report, then issuing the fish command again-and-again until it connects. This doesn't make much sense, but that is what's happening.
