I put a notes plasmoid on my panel (on the right side of my desktop). It's impossible to write into it unless I close or minimize all windows. Not even the caret shows up and all the input goes to the window with focus. It does work when I open a calendar using the digital clock widget. As soon as the focus goes to an open window, the notes widget can't regain focus until I reopen the calendar.

I tried switching kwin effects on and off and the behaviour didn't change.
