Version: 2.1 (using KDE 4.2.4) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages It's not only a cosmetic but also a usability issue: in the applet bar at the bottom of the middle pane appear a lot of plus signs to add new applets when I click the configure button. The plus signs appear at the left and right of every applet button thus making the applet buttons unreadable so you have to guess which is which when you want to remove one. One plus sign should be sufficient for the whole middle pane for adding a new applet because it doesn't affect a specific applet like the close signs. So a little space could be saved on narrow displays.
Well, the + signs are there to place the applets in a particular order. As it is possible to move applets with the mouse, these + signs could go in theory, unless they are needed for the touchscreen.
Created attachment 37354 [details] screenshot of the appletsbar in edit mode > Well, the + signs are there to place the applets in a particular order. I don't understand that. You cannot move the applets with the plus sign, the only function the + signs seem to have is to add a new applet. And for this function one + sign is enough. Even on a touchscreen one single + button is enough. But instead when I always have one more + sign than applets. The attached screenshot shows my appletsbar in edit mode when I e.g. want to rearrange the applets. Can you tell me which applet is which?
There is only one + sign now.
No + signs at all in KF5 based 2.9.71. Closing.
