Description Fabian Köster 2009-06-05 11:33:37 UTC
Version:           0.1.0 (using KDE 4.2.4)
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages

I really like the keywords in Konqueror and use them a lot. For example

* "gg:searchword" for searching Google
* "ggi:searchword" for searching Google Images
* "wp:searchword" for Wikipedia
* "beo:word" for using Beolingus (http://dict.tu-chemnitz.de, created by myself)

The feature itself is not the problem here, it should be done really quick.

From my point of view the integration is the important thing. The individua keywords should be realised as plugins, I think. Some commonly used Keywords like Google should be enabled by default, others should be accessable via KNewStuff. Then you should also be able to add individual Keywords by right-clicking into a search-field and choose "Add new keyword" (Like Firefox and Konqueror do).

Konqueror sometimes seems to have problems with the Input-Encoding for the search. I was not able to set the correct encoding for http://dict.tu-chemnitz.de for example. So this should happen automatically if possible. Please no configuration-parameter "Encoding", most users will be scared by this very technical stuff. Can be an "Advanced" parameter somewhere of course.
