Quote: FIXED, please let me know why the above code is needed. Thanks, Tamas I don't know who this comment is directed to, but a crash defect needs to be fixed if the browser is going to be used for every day browsing. Hopefully that is not in question. I do appreciate this defect being investigated and worked on. Thanks!
It seems the post by "TamasRS" was a confusion ... I will reask the questions: can you reproduce the crash at will? What is your KDE version (svn revision/branch) ? Thanks
(In reply to comment #4) > It seems the post by "TamasRS" was a confusion ... > > I will reask the questions: > can you reproduce the crash at will? > What is your KDE version (svn revision/branch) ? > > Thanks Yes, this crash can be reproduced at will by entering a posting at discuss.extremetech.com, then go back with Konqueror and attempt to edit the post, slightly modifying anything. First, the text box gets cleared of the text that was previously in it; that itself is defective, but shortly thereafter the browser will crash. I'm not sure how many other forums will present this behavior, but the Extreme Tech forum software brings this out. Another forum, newbieslinux.org, uses Beehive forum software, and in that forum, when you create a post, after it gets posted, the post gets narrowed to under twenty characters in width. That's a display issue and that is much less critical, but it does appear that there are multiple defects in the text widget, if that is what is being used in forum software. These defects have definitely NOT gone away; I have seen them in releases as late as 4.2.4, and the display defect was in 4.2.2. Don't close this defect until it can be fixed. IF you need additional information, please ask. Thanks!
