Description Georg 2009-06-03 22:04:24 UTC
Version: Unbekannt (using 3.5.9 "release 49.1" , openSUSE 11.0)
Compiler: Target: x86_64-suse-linux
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.25.20-0.1-default

Hello,

there seems to be a bug in Kmail when using S/MIME keys from CAcert. I added the CAcert root key and my personal CAcert key. But I cannot send signed or encrypted mails. When I receive a mail signed with a S/MIME key, Kmail cannot check the validity of the key. Despite the keys are visible in Kleopatra.

To check if I made a mistake I used the same keys with Thunderbird at OpenSuse and Outlook at Windows XP. It works with both programs. So I belive the problem is caused by a bug in Kmail.

Georg

Problem still exists on 4.4.2.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
