Version:           0.8.3 (using 4.2.3 (KDE 4.2.3), PLD-Linux)
Compiler:          i686-pld-linux-gcc
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.27.13-1

When I try to print a PDF document I'm getting "Could not print document. Please report to bugs.kde.org".

I'm using locat CUPS to print on network printer.

There is nothing on stderr/stdout from okular.

Printing from KWrite to the very same printer works without problems.

I'm aware that this description isn't probably sufficient and I'll be happy to provide any information that may help - please ask.

Any PDF. Printing worked from KPDF before upgrade from KDE 3.x, so I don't think CUPS is to blame.

Please post the output your get when running okular from a console and then
printing. Make sure that if running `kdebugdialog` you have all the okular
debug areas enabled.

There is almost no output:

In debug dialog I have marked for Okular: 4700, 4710, 4711, 4712, 4713, 4714, 4715.

I've solved this problem. I needed to instal cups subpackage providing /usr/bin/lpr. I didn't know Okular prints via this program.

And, to be honest, the error message could be better. So I'm not closing this bug. Please consider it an error message change request.

We tell the user a better error message now saying we could not find a suitable binary to print and that he should install cups lpr
