My apologies, the description wasn't entirely correct. It does not crash when I click on one of the little thumbnails to change the shown picture but when I click on the big picture to close the preview window. The URL I was viewing is Nitrogen 2.2.3 - http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php/Nitrogen?content=99551 Doing the same in Konqueror works just fine.
