Description Dotan Cohen 2009-06-02 12:05:46 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.3)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

Please add a toolbar button for the Detail View's "Expandable Folders". I find this option very handy when I need it, yet annoying when I don't. Therefore, I am switching it on and off constantly, and it is too deep in the menus. Thanks!

This bug also needs to be fixed in KDE4 konqueror as well. In kde4, holding down the details icon doesn't give me the option of turning tree view on/off. The only place I have found it so far is as a setting buried in settings/configure konqueror. You can't deal effectively with hidden files/directories without it. Please provide a way to turn tree mode (expanding folders) on/off with the detials button again. Thanks.

I like David's idea of the Expandable Folders option being in a dropdown box on the Details icon. Was this the behaviour of KDE 3?

Good idea. If this is added to the "view" menu it would automatically become available as a toolbar button as well.

Yes Please,
I requested ability to turn of expandable folders, (they are not safe for some file wrangling operations)

but they are nice for other situations.

It makes sense to have details and expandable details be separate views...

And while we're at it, we might as well be able to make our own customizable views that inheret off of the base views you provide.
Maybe Dolphin 3.0?
This could also tie in with activities... so that I am running a file wrangling activity, my dolphin laucnched with that activity would be configured properly for file wrangling...

(aside: when are we finally going to move that + to select into it's own column)

Resetting assignee to default as per bug #305719
