Description Tanja Schulte 2009-06-01 18:21:25 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.85)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

The device actions offer a "do nothing" and several options to use the device with different applications. But it doesn't offer a simple "just mount".

In KDE3 it was possible to add it with the command "kio_media_mounthelper -m %u" but in KDE4 there doesn't seem to be such an option. Just mounting the device and doing nothing else is quite handy when you want to work with konsole or with an ipod. It's not very handy to have to open the device in dolphin first to get it mounted when you don't want to use dolphin right now.

Maybe it is possible to add such an option as one of the default options or to give the user a simple way to add such an option to the actions list?

A seperate module offers automatic mounting on media insertion, which should fix this.
