Description Adam 2009-06-01 00:36:47 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.85)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

When clicking on the selection tools button with the little down facing arrow nothing happens. I assume there's supposed to be a drop down menu where I can change between the text selection and the rectangular selection mode.
Comment 1 Adam 2009-06-01 00:40:35 UTC
Ahh never mind. After a bit of searching I found out you have to hold the button down for a while and the menu comes up eventually. I think it would be nice if either the rectangle or text selection tool was already selected, then the menu would come up immediately, but I guess that's a qt issue rather than okular. This can be changed to invalid.
Comment 2 Pino Toscano 2009-06-01 00:42:49 UTC
The dropdown is not immediate, but delayed.
This way, you can select a text tool, and selecting it more times without the
need to open the dropdown again. This is a behaviour we implemented, not a Qt issue.

Could this be made more discoverable by having the drop down arrow a separate interaction area, and one which makes the menu come up immediately?

Given #1 & #2, should this bug be marked as fixed, or are there plans to make the menu more immediate?
Comment 5 Albert Astals Cid 2011-12-22 23:46:55 UTC
No plan really, we are using a standard component, e.g. kmail uses the same in its toolbar, on the other hand, konqueror has a different, maybe more intuitive implementation, i'll leave it open as a wish
