Description Christoph Feck 2009-05-25 17:21:55 UTC
Version:            (using Devel)
Compiler:          gcc 4.4.0
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Compiled sources

To reproduce:

* open any web page which has text and links
* select some text with the mouse (click-drag)
* click-drag a link

Current behaviour:

* the text selection grows up to the link text

Desired behaviour (as in KDE 3):

* the text selection is not changed, instead only the link is dragged

The real issue is with Tablet PCs, where a click *always* results in small drag, and using Konqueror right now results in large parts of the web site getting selected when clicking on a link.

Maybe you should use QApplication::startDragDistance() resp. QApplication::startDragTime() to make it usable on Tablet PCs.

To be more precise, dragging a link or image seems to start or update a selection. Even without previous selection dragging one link followed by another drag results in having everything in between selected.
