Description e 2009-05-23 23:06:16 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.3)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Mandriva RPMs

Plasma workspace causes a signal 11 from time to time, often around when I launch a new app such as kmail. Usually when I have firefox running, I lauch kmail, or another app, and a popup will appear from Plasma Workspace, stating crash, please report bug, and 'signal 11'.
The workspace proceeds to reload, after which things work fine. The error does not happen every time either, perhaps one in ten or so.
Computer is Compaq cq50-115nr, laptop. I usually try to disable ACPI at boot option screen, as it will not suspend to ram or manage cpu frequency scaling or any other power management without making system unstable or extremely slow. Seems to happen more often when computer is plugged in to AC adaptor than on battery.
AMD Turion 64 x2, 3gb ram, Atheros wifi, Nvidia graphics.

If you can reproduce the crash at will, may you read http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports and post a complete backtrace here? Thanks

It happened again while launching kmail. Here's the full report it came up with.
Thanks. Hope this helps.
