Description Maciej Pilichowski 2009-05-23 20:58:10 UTC
Version:            (using KDE 4.2.2)

Currently is restored the last used (changed) icon size. But in splitview each pane can (and for me, has) its own icon size. This is not restored.

The proportion between pane sizes is also not restored -- dolphin starts with 50% of width for each pane.

Resetting assignee to default as per bug #305719
Comment 2 Māris Nartišs 2013-11-22 12:29:51 UTC
If folders on both split view panes are different, both views are restored to the same folder (for the last active pane?).
It's a bit annoying as I like to leave dolphin open on shut-down to be able to continue my work after start of computer from the same folders but now it doesn't work.

I cannot reproduce this problem (which is not related to this wishlist report, which is about the icon size not being restored).

Oh. Sorry. I'll open a new bug for it. I was just under wrong impression that both issues come from Dolphin not remembering state of pane on restore.

 Only if you can reproduce the problem with Dolphin 4.11.3 or later, please.

Also include a detailed step-by-step description how to reproduce the problem, ideally with a new user. As I said, I cannot reproduce the problem, so we cannot do anything if you just open a new report with the information provided here.

Here's a temporary workaround:

Thank you for the bug report.

As this report hasn't seen any changes in 5 years or more, we ask if you can please confirm that the issue still persists.

If this bug is no longer persisting or relevant please change the status to resolved.
Comment 8 Māris Nartišs 2021-03-09 05:58:50 UTC
Bug still exists.
Steps to reproduce:
* Enable split view
* In one pane increase icon size
* Close Dolphin
* Open Dolphin

Expected result – each pane has a different icon size (as it was on close).
Actual result – each pane has increased icon size (matches last change).

Tested version:
Dolphin 20.08.2
KDE Frameworks 5.74.0
Qt 5.14.2 (built against 5.14.2)
The xcb windowing system
