Version: 1.4.2 (using 4.2.2 (KDE 4.2.2), Debian packages) Compiler: cc OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.29.1-hermione when klicking on an article to open the article in a browser-tab it takes long time until the tab appeares. This is extremely annoying on high-latency networks like GPRS/UMTS etc or browsing over slow proxies like TOR. A gneral guidline for userinterfaces says, an user-action should be followed by an recogniseable reaction within 200ms, to give feedback to the user. If this does not occur the user is irritated, gets the feeling of the application beeing slow and starts wondering if the system has recognized his action at all. Response-times up to tens of seconds like akregators tab-opening are disastrous. Akregator should open a tab immediately, even it is empty at first. konqueror does it right, btw.
I can confirm this behaviour. Moreover I remember about a similar bug reported against this proble, but I cannot find it.
