Version: 0.70.85 (using KDE 4.2.85) Compiler: gcc version 4.3.3 (Debian 4.3.3-9) OS: Linux Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package Although when configuring, cmake says that gadu-gadu feature will be turned on and it is compiled (there is a kopete_gadu.so file in the build-dir) but when I run the program I don't have the gadu-gadu protocol listed, nor any contacts from gadu-gadu.
Compiling from latest svn source gives the same result.
I can confirm this bug.
I've found a solution. You may copy some files (icons) to /usr/share/kde4/apps/kopete/icons (where other icons are) to get icons. To get the protocol listed you need to copy the kopete_gadu.so to /usr/lib/kde4/ and kopete_gadu.desktop to /usr/share/kde4/services/ . You (most likely) can find kopete_gadu.desktop and all icons in earlier kopete packages from your distro. Good luck.

Thx, but I will skip that "magic" and stick with Kadu until that bug would be fixed. Why bug status is not changed to NEW?

Gadu-gadu plugin appeared in menu but kopete crushed when you are trying to use it.
Maybe try to copy libgadu.so as well? I can't remember what things I've tried, but I've got it working. The plugin is buggy as hell, though. Still unresolved issue with importing dummy contacts and breaking pretty much the whole local contact list after getting the roster.
I confirm that irritating bug.
This is an installation/packaging bug. I just installed kopete from svn (with the necessary prerequisites to get gadu-gadu support) and Gadu-Gadu shows up in the list of protocols just fine.
