Version: (using KDE 4.2.85) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages Since KDE 4.3 Beta1 the icons are always jumping down a little when I switch from standard plasma activity to folderview activity. When I log in I also have a scrollbar at the right side of the display in folder view activity until I move the icons down a little. In KDE 4.2.2 I only had this behaviour when I assigned activities to desktops but I didn't do that in 4.3 Beta1. I have a panel at the top of the screen, maybe that's relevant.
I don't have the scrollbar, but my icons are also jumping down when I use the classic desktop. It really seems to be the panel at the top that is causing this, but I don't want to give it up. It shouldn't matter where the user places her panels, that shouldn't affect the position of the icons. Somewhere it's stored that there'S a panel at the top and the desktop containment should be able to read this in advance and place the icons so that they don't jump down when the availabe area shrinks because the panels are getting loaded.
the scrollbar is a different (and reported) bug, but the icons adjust because the screen it is associated with changes and therefore the screen area available to it.
SVN commit 979118 by aseigo: don't reset the contents margins after, as a containment, it's been associated with a screen once already. this prevents re-adjusting the icons when it's switched to again and again BUG:193591 M +0 -3 folderview.cpp WebSVN link: http://websvn.kde.org/?view=rev&revision=979118
