Description Harley Laue 2009-05-21 19:19:06 UTC
Version: 2.0.90 (using KDE 4.2.85)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

I believe this is pretty similar to the Bug 86296 but for Amarok 2
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86296

Basically I'm looking for the same advanced search for playlists that you can do for the collection from the filter bar.

Version: 2.0.96-2 (Debian experimental)

I agree 100% here, it would be really nice to be able to perform advanced searches on the playlist. (I especially miss the fact, that the collection search searches for each word separately while the playlist wants all the search terms in a row - e.g. collection search for "foo bar" gives me the Song "bar" from the "foo"-artist - a playlist search gives me nothing since there is neither a "foo bar" song nor a "foo bar" artist)

Already implemented since quite some time, please check out Amarok 2.2.2

This is not implemented in 2.2.2. Type genre:"something" album:"my favorite" -Artist This functionality is not in the playlist search bar.

Did you have a look at the icon right above the search bar?

Yes, and it's not allow for the same functionality as I described. Something more advanced like:
album:"my favorite" title:"track"
Works fine with the collection search, but doesn't in the playlist search. It's this functionality that I was referring to in the original report :)

The most flexible would be to re-implement the search with AND and OR.

Yes, I tend to just have all my music in the current playlist and select tracks by filtering the playlist, and the nice thing is, it does only loop and play the tracks displayed. But you can neither use AND/OR filters or any other expression you can when filtering the library.

This wish has been granted. This report should be removed.
Comment 15 Christian (Fuchs) 2011-12-20 14:58:42 UTC
It has not been granted, the search with AND / OR or other operators still is only available for the collection search (left side, as per default settings), and not for the playlist search (right side, as per default settings).

Please do not remove this report.

Thanks.

So sorry, please disregard this message, there was a misunderstanding with the Google Code-In student.

Thanks for adding me to this report, I hadn't found it on searching. Do I have to repeat my remarks on this report to complete it?

Only if it adds to the understanding of the wish, but please make sure you read all the previous comments.

Advanced searching in the playlist still doesn't work.
