This happened on a new installed Machine with Ubuntu installed (Gnome)
then I installed "Kubuntu-Desktop" (The whole KDE Package)
After the first start of Digikam it asked me which Paths to use.
But it did not search for pictures - instead it crashed.

The next Start - it did not crash but did not recognize photos in the correct set path.

Then I startde KDE native.
But there was'nt any chance for me to reanimate Digikam.

Looks like a installation/packaging bug.
Bug 191203 and bug 176480 have the same backtrace with no useful information

I just upgraded Digikam 0.9 to 0.10. On starting Digikam it crashed half way through re-indexing my collection. Backtrace declared itself no good. Running KDE 4.2.4 on openSUSE 11.1.

New digiKam 4.11.0 is available :
