Description derek 2001-01-28 01:22:45 UTC
(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: Konqueror
Version: CVS 26JAN2001
Severity: Normal

When images are turned off and you hit the "Show images" button to see
them they load but the gear icon doesn't turn. Therefore there's no
feedback that the images are loading. I would suggest making the gear
icon turn while images are downloading to provide the normal "loading"
feedback.
Comment 1 Timo A. Hummel 2002-09-18 23:14:02 UTC
I can reproduce this behaviour on the current CVS HEAD - further investigation
is needed. Feedback follows in the next few days.

Cheers,
Timo

I couldn't find the parts - unfortunately I'm not a khtml pro. Sent back to the
"more advanced" developers.
Comment 3 Icekiss 2003-11-15 13:54:38 UTC

Comment 8 Becheru Petru-Ioan 2005-05-23 16:48:09 UTC
I really want the gear to turn when images are loaded
Comment 9 Martin Fabian Hohenberg 2005-12-02 19:48:30 UTC
My wheel turns when loading images in KDE 3.5.0 ... this seems fixed. Shoul be closed if a working version is reproducable.
Comment 10 Ian Ventura-Whiting 2006-08-29 14:08:22 UTC
If you set the "Settings -> Configure Konqueror -> Web Behaviour -> automatically Load Images" option to off. Browse to a web page that has images on it, then click on the toolbar icon to display images (or set the option on again). It does not animate the gear to show that the images are loading.

This is on KDE 3.5.3 (Using SuSE packages) and KDE 3.5.4 (built from source).

Still there in KDE 4.2.1/Konqueror 4.2.1.
Comment 13 Samuel Brack 2010-12-31 16:33:52 UTC
Updating version to 4.5.4 - it's still a valid bug.

Dear user,

KHTML (and KJS) was a long time more or less unmaintained and got removed in KF6.

Please migrate to use a QWebEngine based HTML component.

We will do no further fixes or improvements to the KF5 branches of these components beside important security fixes.

For security issues, please see:

https://kde.org/info/security/

Sorry that we did not fix this issue during the life-time of KHTML.

Greetings
Christoph Cullmann
