Description Josef Kufner 2009-05-10 21:46:29 UTC
Version: 0.8 (using KDE 4.2.1)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

Hi,
i found, that sometimes okular opens soundcard and block another programs from it, but does not play anything. It just keeps it open and do not use it.

I have no idea why it should require sound while viewing PDF file... and if so, there should be option to disable it.

Thank you,
Josef Kufner.

Are you starting Okular from Firefox in such cases?
Comment 2 Josef Kufner 2009-05-10 22:13:44 UTC
Yes. I tried it right now... when i open it from firefox, sound card is closed. But when i open it while playing video, it inherits firefox's file stream...

So it is firefox's bug. Do you have idea how to prevent from this behavior?

Yes, this is a longstanding mozilla bug:

Unfortunately, there's nothing you can set in firefox to avoid the problem; the only workaround is manually starting Okular on its own, and then opening the documents you want (for example copying the links from firefox).
