Version: (using KDE 4.2.2) OS: Linux Installed from: SuSE RPMs The file /usr/bin/kfontview is part of the package kdebase4-workspace-4.2.2-221.13 but there is no documentation in this package. The docs seem to be in kde4-l10n-de-doc but there are no docs for kfontview in there. I'm not sure why this is; all I see in khelpcenter is this error: "Für /kfontview/index.html ist keine Dokumentation verfügbar." This is frustrating. Either there should be no "Help" entry in the Help menu of kfontview or there should be some documentation somewhere. Having a help entry and no docs irritates the user. Also, the current system makes it hard to track dependencies. There are dozens of packages with programs for KDE 4 but only a single documentation package (and I couldn't even find one for English; isn't there one??). How do you make sure that the documentation is installed when a new program is installed? For me, this looks like very brittle. There should either be a doc package per program package or the docs should go into the program package. This would make sure that I get the docs when I install a program. Furthermore, I would not have docs installed for programs which aren't installed.
Packaging depends on distributions. (docs package per application or per module) This could be a packaging issue too. But I'm reassigning to docs Thanks
Bad news: No packing issue, kfontview never had any documention in kde :-( Good News: KDE SC 4.5.0 will be released with a docbook for KFontview :-)
Fixed in branch 4.5, it will be released with 4.5.0: http://lists.kde.org/?l=kde-commits&m=127982801814880&w=2 Thanks for the report
