Description Daniel 2009-05-10 12:31:08 UTC
Version:           4.2.3 (using Devel)
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Compiled sources

The stock konsole.desktop file contains this:
Exec=konsole -e $SHELL -l

This is too specific, and shouldn't be the case. The default konsole.desktop file should just start the default konsole profile (be it Shell or anything): Exec=konsole would be enough.

Where did you get the konsole.desktop file from? The canonical one in kdebase/apps/konsole/desktop just has Exec=konsole
Comment 2 Daniel 2009-05-18 18:03:15 UTC
You are absolutely right, and I apologize for the noise. It was the slackware package's desktop file.

No worries. Due to another bug in Konsole this will also cause a whole lot of weirdness in the settings dialog. I have sent an email to volkerdi@slackware.com, apparently there isn't a bug tracker?
