Version: (using KDE 4.2.2) Installed from: Mandriva RPMs The Task Manager has an option to turn off tooltips, but it is not possible to do the same for the Application Launcher Menu, Icons, Clock, etc. There should be a global option to turn off all tooltips, as well as a local option for each widget/panel.
I agree with this. As I already know what the icons I've placed in panels are for, I have no need of an intrusive tooltip to remind me. And it's extremely annoying when they pop up and obscure what I'm doing just because my mouse pointer happens to trigger them.

Hello! This feature request was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this feature request is already implemented in Plasma 5, or is no longer applicable.
