Description Ralf Jung 2009-05-09 13:58:59 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.2)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

Since I upgraded to KDE4, I have performance issues when editing Python files in Kate (it might apply for other languages, too - but PHP, C and C++ work fine): For small files, there is a hardly noticeable delay when I open them and whenever I type a bracket like ( or ) or an apostrophe like " and '. For big files (>2000 lines), the delay is very noticeable, and from about 4000 lines on I have to wait several seconds after each bracket I type.

Opening the file got much faster in KDE 4.3.2 (it's instant now) - however, typing "(" or ")" still lets me wait for almost a second. It's much better than before, but still noticeable.
