Description Leandro 2009-05-08 16:11:30 UTC
Version: 1.11.2 (using 4.2.2 (KDE 4.2.2), Mandriva Linux release 2009.1 (Cooker) for i586)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.29.1-desktop586-4mnb

kmail does not send email for one of my 5 accounts and it is correctly configured. It work on another Email Application like Outlook 2003.
I have 4 gmail accounts that works correctly and 1 email account of another server provider that is perfectly configured (and works fine in Outlook for example).
The problem is that it receives emails from that account but can not send (fails to send the email).
Please let me know what can it be, I checked a million times the configuration of the SMTP and it is exactly the same as I did it in another programs.
All the accounts are using SSL.
Thank you in advance.
Leandro.

Can you tell us the error message kmail displays?

There is no error message.. The emails just sit in the outbox.

I'm seeing the same problem, on KMail 4.8.5

Email sits in the outbox, and is not send when sending email. No errors are displayed on the UI, no logging is displayed on the server side. If I start KMail from the console, then I get the following output:

sam@strange:~$ kmail
QDBusConnection: session D-Bus connection created before QCoreApplication. Application may misbehave.
QDBusConnection: session D-Bus connection created before QCoreApplication. Application may misbehave.
kmail2(11208)/kdepimlibs (mailtransport): Could not access Outbox.

I can see the emails in the local outbox, so I'm not sure what it means by can't access it.

I can send either via SMTP or using local sendmail. If I try sending emails from Thunderbird with the same configuration, it all works.

Was working fine on Kubuntu 11.04, I just upgraded to 12.04 which is when things stopped working.

In akonadiconsole, I restarted the Mail Dispatcher Agent, and the test mail stuck in the outbox has now vanished (it's in sent mail, but never reached its destination).

Subsequent emails are now going out correctly though.

I'm guessing that the Mail Dispatcher Agent was playing up, and that the restart fixed it.

Can we assume that this report is no longer valid, given the age of it ?
(We're currently at KDE-4.10)
