Description Luca Zorzi 2009-05-08 15:25:48 UTC
Version: 1.2.1 (using 4.2.2 (KDE 4.2.2), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.28-11-generic

I was trying to put a folder containing some music I just ripped into my music library (organized like this: Artist/Album Title/Tracks) which contains a fairly high number of subdirectories, one for each artist, and they don't fit verticaly into my screen (1920x1080), so they get splitted into 2 columns.
If I try to put the files in a folder in the first column I have to move my mouse quickly and precisely, since the content of the selected folder are shown next to the right column, instead of appearing over it.

You can find a screenshot attached.

Thanks for the report, I agree that this should be fixed.

@David: Is it OK for you if I take care for this issue?

Any news about this?
Comment 4 David Faure 2009-05-23 04:26:52 UTC
Please have patience. I'm looking at reports from December 2008 right now...

Anyway, this one looks like a Qt issue, not much we can do about it in KDE. Meanwhile I recommend using the arrow keys on the keyboard, they solve this problem quite nicely.

Resetting assignee to default as per bug #305719
Comment 6 Justin Zobel 2020-10-24 00:32:28 UTC
Luca can you please confirm this is still an issue with the most recent version of Dolphin.

I just checked on Kubuntu 20.04 and the issue is no longer there, the menu appears where it should, right next to the selected item rather than all the way to the right.
