Version: 2.1-SVN (using 4.2.2 (KDE 4.2.2), Kubuntu packages) Compiler: cc OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.28-11-generic I have a very strange issue with the current Amarok svn build. I have not found a good way to reproduce this, but I thought to report it anyway. I just downloaded the Pulp Fiction Sound Track Collection CD (a CD with various artists) and imported it in Amarok. Now Amarok seems to pick a random (?) artist from my collection for some of the songs on this CD. Note that the ID3 tags are correct. I don't know what else to say except for giving an example: $ eyeD3 01_Misirlou_-_Dick_Dale_and_His_Del-Tones.mp3 01_Misirlou_-_Dick_Dale_and_His_Del-Tones.mp3 [ 5.61 MB ] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Time: 02:27 MPEG1, Layer III [ 320 kb/s @ 44100 Hz - Joint stereo ] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ID3 v2.3: title: Misirlou artist: Dick Dale & His Del-Tones album: Pulp Fiction Soundtrack - Collector's Edition year: None track: 1/21 Amarok tells me this is a song by the Ramones. I know this isn't a very clear bug report so please let me know if I can give more info. Cheers! job
*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 172953 ***
Why had this bug been marked as a duplicate? I read all the comments of bug 172953 but nobody seemed to have the problem I described here: wrong artists being assigned when the ID3 tags are correct.
Because bug 172953 is our catch all bug for compilation support. Because yes, we know that compilation support in Amarok 2 is shite. We try to keep our bug tracker as slim as possible, otherwise we simply can't manage it (imagine how many bugs/feature requests/comments) we get every day.
