if you set an a reminder to an event, does it works?
Comment 2 karaluh 2009-05-06 13:32:24 UTC
Yes, it does.
Comment 3 Sergio Martins 2009-05-06 13:44:46 UTC
Can you attach your event? copy it from your ics file.

Thanks

I can confirm this. I do get *some* reminders but it seems they have all been
from events.

I just tried it. I set a new task with reminder on and the reminder did not
show. I also configure a new event with reminder on and the reminder did show.

Here is the TODO that did not work:

BEGIN:VTODO
DTSTAMP:20090530T105015Z
ORGANIZER;CN="Martin Steigerwald":MAILTO:[...]

BEGIN:VALARM

END:VALARM
END:VTODO

And that is the event that did work:

BEGIN:VEVENT
DTSTAMP:20090530T105015Z

I feel so free to set this bug report to confirmed.
Comment 6 Martin Steigerwald 2009-05-30 12:58:07 UTC
I forgot to remove the mail address from the event. If someone has the bugzilla karma to remove it, please do so. Otherwise my CRM114 setup will possibly have to cope with some additional spammers. (I don't think this will make much of a difference anymore.)

Try sending an e-mail to sysadmin@kde.org.

As for the bug, I'll add it to my to-do list for 4.4.x, I'll set a reminder so I don't forget to fix this :).

I still didn't reproduce it though. Do to-dos with no time associated work?
Comment 8 Martin Steigerwald 2009-05-30 14:35:52 UTC
I added one for Monday without time and will report back when I get no reminder.

If you find a bug fix before KDE 4.4.x I would like to do a backport for KDE 4.3.x. As it will take quite some time till KDE 4.4 hits distros.
Comment 9 Sergio Martins 2009-05-30 14:58:47 UTC
I wanted to say 4.3, not 4.4.

I found the cause, a reminder can be set relative to start or relative to end date.

In event's the default it relative to start. In to-dos it also default to start!

So, if you have a to-do with due date and no start date, and check the reminder box it won't work.

As a workaround until this is fixed, set a start date also (start=due).
