Description karaluh 2009-05-06 10:26:13 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

Currently to set up smart card (assign PIN, change PUK, save certificates) you have to use various command line tools, varying on the type of card/card reader you have. KDE needs GUI to easly access and manage smart cards.

I fully support that. I just got a smart card and set it up via the command line opions. This is clearly not suitable for an enduser. Without nicely usable tools, encryption will never be broadly used.

Whole new KCMs are out of scope for a bug tracker.
