Version: 0.70.2 (using 4.2.2 (KDE 4.2.2), Kubuntu packages) Compiler: cc OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.28-11-generic The default settings on Kopete that's bundled with Ubuntu 9.04 / KDE 4.2.2 are extremely annoying, and I think those should be changed to be much less intrusive: 1. IM windows on the current desktop should always be treated as "active" but marked with a WM urgent hint (per suggestion in bug 191024). 2. If an IM conversation is open with a certain contact, followup messages (irrespective of virtual desktop / screen) should not popup a message. It becomes VERY annoying when I'm trying to debug something and the right 25% of the screen suddenly fills up with IMs 3. Same with sounds - incoming messages for open chats at least (I'd say any chat) should not trigger a "ding". 4. Right-click on the taskbar / dock Kopete icon does not allow me to control notifications. IMO it should, because the chat windows don't either. (however, this is minor if the above 3 are fixed :) ) As an IM client Kopete is great, but I much prefer the 3.x Kopete to the 4.x Kopete in their default states.
Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained. Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
